How much does simple affiliate tracking software cost?

The short answer: you can track a simple affiliate setup for free, a real standalone tracker costs a modest monthly fee, and the best-known names start at roughly double that. The number that actually lands on your card is none of those. It is the base plan plus whatever your traffic runs over the event allowance, plus the tier you had to upgrade to for the one feature you came for.

This page separates the sticker price from the bill.

What each tier actually costs

The standalone trackers below are sorted by catalog rank, each with its entry price from the vendor's published plans.

The part the pricing page hides

You are billed by the event, and the meter does not stop. Every cloud tracker includes a monthly event allowance, and when you pass it, tracking keeps running and the overage lands on the next invoice. RedTrack publishes overage at $0.025 to $0.04 per 1,000 events. Voluum publishes $0.03 to $0.06 per 1,000, and counts visits, clicks, conversions and impressions as events. On a busy month, that overage can quietly cost more than the plan you signed up for.

An "event" covers far more than a sale. This is the line buyers miss. Every visit and every click counts as one, and on Voluum ten impressions add another. So high-frequency pop and push traffic burns an allowance far faster than the same spend on paid social, where a campaign fires a handful of events per visitor. Match the pricing model to your traffic and the bill follows.

The feature you came for is often one tier up. The headline plan gets you in the door. The capability you actually needed, an extra team seat, a specific integration, higher automation limits, frequently sits on the plan above it. Budget for the tier that carries the job.

How to pay the least for the job

Validating one offer: start free. BeMob tracks a first campaign at $0 with a monthly event cap. It is enough to prove an offer before any card is charged, but the free allowance runs out fast once traffic is real, so expect to move to a paid plan soon after.

Scaling paid social or ecommerce: RedTrack is the value pick. It does the core job Voluum charges more for, from $83/mo (also billed annually), with server-side conversions included. It is metered, so you still watch events, but the entry cost is far lower.

High-event pop or push traffic: a flat fee wins. Binom is a flat $149 a month with no traffic-volume cap, so a heavy month costs the same as a quiet one. You pay for that with a server to run and a setup that is not beginner-friendly.

Offers that close in a checkout you run: track through the platform that hosts the sale, and you skip paying for a separate tracker at all. ElasticFunnels does this, with server-side affiliate postbacks and network attribution built into its own checkout, from $97 a month plus 0.5% of the revenue that runs through it. The honest limit: it is newer than the trackers above, and there is very little independent third-party review coverage to check its claims against, so until you run real volume through it you are largely taking the vendor's word for it. If your tracking has to reach past your own checkout, a dedicated tracker on a free or flat plan is the safer start.

Is cheap and simple worth it?

For one to a handful of offers, yes. The free and sub-$70 tiers cover the job, and the money you would spend on Voluum or Binom buys polish and ecosystem you do not need yet. The trap is the metered bill, so read the overage rate before the sticker price.

What works

  • A real free tier exists, so a first offer can be tracked at $0 before any card is charged
  • The honest paid floor for a standalone tracker is roughly $49 to $69 a month, well under the $119 to $149 the best-known names lead with
  • Flat and self-hosted options exist that do not bill by traffic, so a high-volume month costs the same as a quiet one

What to watch

  • Cloud trackers meter events, and tracking does not stop at the cap. It keeps running and bills the overage on your next invoice
  • The capability you came for is often locked to a higher tier, so the real price is the plan that includes it
  • An "event" can mean a visit, a click, a conversion or an impression, so pop and push traffic burns an allowance far faster than paid social does

Pricing FAQ

What is the cheapest way to track affiliate campaigns?
A free tier such as BeMob's covers one offer while you validate it. Move to a paid standalone tracker when its event allowance runs short.
Why is my tracker bill higher than the plan price?
Tracking keeps running past the plan's event cap, and the extra events are billed as overage. On pop or push traffic, a busy month's overage can exceed the base subscription.
Do I need one of the pricier trackers?
Usually not for a simple setup. RedTrack does the same core job for less, and BeMob starts free. Voluum and Binom pay off on high-volume affiliate and native traffic, which a setup with one or two offers rarely has.
Is a flat or self-hosted tracker cheaper?
It can be, if your traffic is high-event. Binom is a flat monthly fee with no traffic-volume cap, and self-hosted trackers trade a per-event bill for a server you run. Both make a heavy month predictable. You pay for that with setup and maintenance instead.

The value pick for most simple setups

RedTrack does the same core job as the pricier names on its entry plan, with server-side conversions included. I would start there once a free tier runs short.
